Hm..."intelligence" or lack thereof is what draws folks to vid.games?
Hm...I don't think so, Tim ;>

Video games are, pure and simply, a release. We need play as well
as 'work' -- if we don't get it, we eventually go mad. True.

I play video games (and card games, and roleplaying games, and board
games, etc etc.) cuz they're fun. Many of them are challenging.
Chess, for example, takes a bit of skill :> Doom, in it's own way,
requires a certain grasp of strategy, tactics, etc. (well, on the
harder levels at least.)

Video games are fun, dammit. Well, some of em.

What would make video games more appealing to women? Hm. Dunno.
I like Doom. I like Hexen. Myst bored the begeezus out of me.
Lemmings is fun, but rather limited.

If someone could make a video game which gave the same level of
interactivity and satisfaction as a real roleplaying game, I would
die a happy woman. (Sometimes it's just too damned hard to get all
the guys together to play ;)

*blather* I have had a rough day. (I didn't get my funding, and
I'm bitter. Really really really bitter. *THAT* is what Doom is
for...I can't go shoot the grad studies committee, but I can kill
a couple of hundred demons before beddie-bies... ;) *maniacal grin*

- Deb (off to kick demon ass....and looking forward to paintball
season with almost disturbing glee.... >:)
