it's in the top of the terminal screen, followed by a (x of y) message,
in the lynx echo bar. like this:

the proper comment form for HTML is <!blah blah blah> and it does too
work in lynx. if, however, some other symbol is used, the html tag will
be shown as normal text.
some of the more useless tags:
as far as i know, this serves no other purpose than to
signify that this document is, in fact, an HTML document, and not a SGML one.
the tag pair governs this
the only REAL use i see of these is to outline the page for idiots.
