Hi all,
The agreement we all (well, almost all-:) have made with regards to not
discussing computers for one week, is pretty difficult to uphold. One has
to resort to all sort of strange inputs, like newspapers and the like:-)
Anyway, i've read in my local newspaper something about Italy. Yeah,
thats's right! Let's discuss the future of Italy for a change:-)
In the article it was said that a new political movement called Padiana,
has declared the north of Italy independent of the south of Italy. Their
leader, mr. Pagliarini, has said that the rich north part of the country
will no longer pay for the poor south part of Italy.
As could be expected the far wing right political party Lega Norte (sp?)
jumped in immediately. The Lega Norte with it's leader mr. Bossi, has
become an established party in the political landscape of Italy so the
support of the Lega Norte gives the declaration of independence a rather
formal basis.
So my question is this: what the ... is happening in Italy!? Is there going
to be a seperation of Italy into North-Italy and South-Italy? What about
the legality of the announcement of seperation? How strong is this movement
anyway? Are they willing to fight for their indepedence, Lord knows they
are capable of planting bombs in Italy, remember Falcone?
Perhaps an Italian listmember or someone who knows more about Italy than i
do, can give some more information about what is and what will be happening
in Italy. Maybe the foreing newspapers are overstating the importance of
the seperation movement Padiana.
Hoping to hear from you,
Riemer Brouwer
