anybody out there?
I got back Monday from two and a half weeks in Japan. What a place!
Interesting food, amazing history; the incredible Tokyo train system;
people, people, people; taking the train for hours and still being
in city, city, city; friendly, generous people, who become amazingly
pushy when getting on a train; difficult language (trying to talk to
my SO's parents, who speak very little English); temples and shrines
and a 13m Budda; expensive food (and coffee! CAN$8 for a single cup,
no refills, in Ginza, and you can pay a lot more); expensive everything;
rush hour at 9:00pm; quite safe; minor earthquakes that I couldn't
feel; lots of Olympic Judo on TV; Beer and ice coffee in vending
machines; karaoke; NO NET ACCESS (for me)! Whew!
Comments, threads?
<sigh> Back to work..
