Yup looks like a good week to take off from work ! Logged in for the
first time in a couple of days , after being in the sun. Laying back
copping some rays and photoing the occasional cloud to turn into bumpmaps
once scanned in !
I can well belive that a switch could take out an entire network!
Often happens that the Washington Router goes down on our link from the
UK and the traffic makes the links ground to a halt while the backup
routers go slow! As I would have been on the 20:00 to 08:00 shift this
last week (GMT) looks like I would have copped for our US users losing
tcp/ip with the UK machines . Ahh well , saturday evening , and still off
till tuesday , donning the new chinos and bopping off to a good friends
wedding reception in a half hour or so , then wombling back to try and
catch Hawkwind doing the Cu-See - Me routine from the Earth Daze
festival(I think) , same as they did with Womad last weekend ! Oh and for
those of a vouyeristic "bent" , apparently the Sex and Sleaze play
Voyeurz! currently on in Londons West end has a cam in the dressing room
! starts at about 20:00 GMT . What with Portillo's(Gov. Minister) front
door going up on the Web and Man uniteds plan to show live home games ,
the bandwith in the UK is rapidly being eaten up by Video - no wonder
some evenings its down to less than 1k bps on netscrape.
