It seems VERY dangerous to me to have laws on the books like that.
Understanding that there are laws which may be higher or lower in priority,
having laws on the books that are patently ignored only breeds ignorance and
disinterest where the law is concerned. This is not a good thing, as laws
that ARE on the books can be picked up at a moment's notice. The fact that
they rarely are does not make their existence more palatable. This sort of
thing is at the foundation of repressive government -- plenty of laws that
aren't enforced, so long as you don't call anyone's attention to their
transgression. But should a government want you, all they have to do is
prosecute you for day to day activities. Obviously, this isn't either the
genesis or practice of most law where sexuality is concerned. But their
existence is troubling....
