Hey, Mike, I was reading _Wired_ the other day and came across
this article that said there's a new feature being included in
all the hip e-mail programs these days. It's called a 'delete'
function. Apparently it lets you eradicate an e-mail message
_without ever having to read it_! Can you believe it? I hope they
go public, 'cause I wanna buy stock!
I hear e-mail listserv programmers are jumping on the bandwagon
and installing a similar feature in their software called
'unsubscribe'. You won't get ANY e-mail from the listserv! None
at all! Think of all the time you could save; you will no longer
be physically compelled to read to the very end of every post!
(And I've heard rumours--though I don't put too much stock in
them--that the human brain has the potential to replicate these
processes itself. So-called gurus are calling this "the process
of ignoring things thay annoy you" (aren't they always giving
goofy names to their silly scams, heh heh). Apparently, they
argue that with much exertion of personal will a person can
actually *choose on their own* not to read an e-mail message,
even if their software doesn't give them the option to delete or
unsubscribe. I'm not too sure about that. Sounds kind of New Agey
to me.)
Anyway, you might want to check out some of those options, Mike.
