So I am on my way into work , making the short walk (5mins) to the
corner of the Market Square by the Library and the Village Hall .
Walkman plugged in listening to System 7 and a very heavy backpack
weighing down my shoulder . Its weird why is it suddenly so heavy
?
Realised I use it most days and just have a tendency to jam stuff
in it copious mouth and many pockets .

Add to this assorted scraps of paper , and the entire EFF
directory of Icon gifs on hard copy I just found screwed up in a
corner , and I guess you have a representation on my life - add to
this the usual travelling stuff of Memory cards , psu and modem
for the Newt , and usually whatever light reading I am on at the
moment , and I am carrying around 10 - 15 lbs of stuff around ,
But I actually need it all.
Include Judy's mobile and we are talking a mobile office ,just on
a day trip. Most of the items are returnred to the pack as soon as
I have used them - they are all "Must Haves" .
It just suddenly worried me , because I am carrying my work with
me at all times.Even without the pack , I sometimes go mountain
biking with the Newt on board , to jot down Ideas on , and a
Walkman and tapes for rest periods !
I am starting to feel like I am carrying a technological safety
blanket, I don't need all the crap , but I feel naked without it .
I went out last Saturday with no tech with me and fretted.
