I was asking for courtesy -- he'd not asked the list if this was ok; in my
recollection, those who wanted to post *many longish pieces at once*
usually asked the list if this was OK or if anyone was interested.

but you're absolutely right and the following is not in dispute: we do not
have rules. But we *do* have etiquette.
