I always thought that being committed (in Canada) wouldn't be so bad.
Nice room, 3 squares a day, and all the books you could ever hope to
consume :) Granted, the general lack of freedom and dependence upon a
dear friend to provide reading material could get to be a bit of a drag
after a while. There's also the 'getting published' problem: if you're
actually *institutionalized*, the world tends to take you somewhat less
seriously than otherwise :> All I hope is to someday have a job which will
allow me to eventually pay off my student debt while also maintaining me in
the clean and simple lifestyle I so desperately want, while *also* leaving
me 3-4 days a week to 'do my own thing'.

Actually, I've been thinking of freelance desktop publishing and computer/
'Net consulting. I did it part time over the summer, and folks were willing
to pay $40/hr for my services. Pretty sweet. Paid for all my upgrades :>
'Course, I'd have to break down and learn how to use the WWF (World Wide Fad ;)
if I'm gonna do it full time (presently I am still a "foul, text-based
creature", clinging desperately to my hope that the WWW is just a fad, like
colour TV :D )

Hmm. Looks like I'll need a dedicated line to my rubber room :>

*blather*

deb

trivia: I just went curling for the first time (no, not the hair-style,
the game...ice, rocks, brooms, etc. :) It's a *tonne* of fun. Too cool.
Too Canadian :> We won. Yay! *wave*
