I've been thinking about them and I think that I think I don't like them
too much.
I'm getting sick of seeing "runs great pn Netscape!" on the bottom of
web pages and the dumb 5% thingy.
I thought the most successful systems (computer-wise and generally) were
OPEN systems and the web of all places was suppsoed to be an OPEN system,
made OPEN by standards like html 2.0 decided by some sort of process, and
not just imposed by a successful marketing company.
I don't WANT a web page that can be read best, hell, that can only be read
by Netscape browsers. Screw that.
I want web pages that ANYONE can read with any shitty browser. .. anyone
can read period.
And now the next phase of Netscape has downloadable hot-java code and
stuff. Making the web less webby and more Netscapey.
I say screw 'em.
I am very interested to know what others think -- So what do you think ???
